Vocational Rehabilitation (VR) helps people with physical, psychiatric, and learning disabilities find and keep a job. VR helps you identify job goals based on your interests and skills, and explore college and vocational training. It also reduces or removes barriers to employment.
Agencies usually work with individuals who need more significant services to return to work or to work for the first time. In some states, this includes intensive training, education (sometimes including college courses), medical treatment and rehabilitation services, durable medical equipment or vehicle modification or repair. They may also provide career counseling, job placement assistance and counseling on how working may affect benefits. If
you want to receive services from your state VR agency, you work with the agency to complete an Individualized Plan for Employment (IPE). When you sign the IPE, this puts your Ticket “in use” with the VR.
A determination of Vocational Rehabilitation (VR) program eligibility is based on the following:
Once eligibility is established, a VR counselor assists the person to develop an Individualized Plan for Employment (IPE). The IPE identifies the vocational goal and the services that will be provided in order to achieve that goal. To help people with disabilities obtain employment, RSA provides comprehensive rehabilitation services, which may include: information and referral, assessment services, counseling and guidance, physical restoration, vocational training or other post-secondary education, job search, job placement and job coaching, supported employment.
RSA assists persons with disabilities to locate employment by developing and maintaining close relationships with local businesses. Furthermore, they assist persons served to become tax paying citizens and to reduce their reliance on entitlement programs.

Supporting my Son
“Dr. Burdick, I wanted to formally thank you and your team for the care that Tate is receiving. You have gone above and beyond to help him settle into his current residence. Helping him to find employment has been a huge help as well. I could not be more pleased with the care he’s receiving. I want you and your team to know how much I appreciate you. You have helped him more than any other place he has been ever had. Your company will support Tate for the foreseeable future. Your staff is great with Tate. He considers them friends and responds well to their coaching.”
Keep up the tremendous work.
Supporting my daughter
“Dr. B, I’m very thankful that God guided me to choose your Agency for my daughter. We had a meet and greet with many Agencies, and none of them is well set up like Home Care Preference. Every time I visit her, she always looks happy, clean, and healthy. Blessings to you guys. She looks so good! I can tell you guys are taking such good care of her. I also met her roommates. They all look very well taken care of. Thanks for your good care of these girls with disabilities. You and your team make the world a better place! It takes a special heart to do what you. You will always be in my prayers.”
Supporting my daughter
“I want to thank Home Care Preference for making it possible for me and my daughter to have a quality life. Before God guided my father to call Home Care Preference to help us support my daughter Lydia, we were having a tough time with her. Things were so bad that I could not keep my job. My daughter was in and out of the mental health hospital at least three times a week. She had graduated from high school, and we didn’t have the professional skills to manage her behaviors. Today my daughter Lydia has been supported in this house for years, and she has never been admitted into the hospital again, not even once.”
